Key Takeaways

Our Sauna Services for Your Private Wellness Retreat

A home sauna is more than a luxury in Vienna Northern VA. It’s a daily investment in your well-being. Explore your options for layout, materials, and planning to create a sanctuary that suits your space and your life.

Indoor & Outdoor Sauna Options

A home sauna can go in a finished basement room, a spare room, a closet, or a former wine room (we have converted all of these), or out back as a freestanding outdoor sauna. Indoor pre-fab saunas are factory-built cedar cabins that fit a finished room with at least 85 inches of ceiling height. Custom indoor saunas are framed, insulated, and lined in Clear Western Red Cedar to fit the room you already have. Outdoor models are designed for four-season use and sit on a prepared base. We manage the ordering, assembly, electrical work, and inspection. See finished builds in our remodeling portfolio.

Materials, Heating Systems & Ventilation

We build with Clear Western Red Cedar, which holds up well in a high-heat sauna and keeps its natural aroma. Our sauna heaters are traditional stone-based electric units with built-in controls, with Harvia and HUUM upgrades and Wi-Fi options available. Every custom build includes insulation, a foil vapor barrier, and a low air inlet near the heater with an adjustable cedar outlet vent on the opposite side, so heat and fresh air move through the room. Compare options in our guides to the best wood for a sauna and sauna heaters, or schedule a phone remodeling consultation.

Cost, Planning & Project Timeline

Sauna construction packages start at $25,000, and the final cost depends on size, heater, glass, and the room or site we are working with. Planning starts with the space: ceiling height, electrical panel capacity, ventilation, and for outdoor saunas, the base. We obtain the electrical permit, schedule the final inspection, and cover the permit fees. See the full cost breakdown below, or add a sauna to a larger whole-house remodeling project.

Our Sauna Installation Process

One in-house team handles your sauna from the first visit to the final inspection, so you are never coordinating separate trades.

  1. Consultation and space check. We visit your home or meet you at our Vienna showroom, measure the room or yard, and check ceiling height, electrical panel capacity, and where the heater and vents will go.
  2. Design and selections. You choose the sauna type, size, wood, heater, glass, and lighting for your space.
  3. Scope, price, and permit. We confirm the scope and price for your space before work starts, then obtain the electrical permit and cover the permit fees.
  4. Build and install. Custom indoor saunas are framed, insulated, vapor-barriered, lined in cedar, and fitted with benches, heater, vents, and door. Pre-fab and outdoor saunas are assembled and secured, and the heater is wired to its dedicated 240V circuit.
  5. Inspection and walkthrough. We schedule the final electrical inspection with your county, then walk you through the sauna controls and care.
